How to cram 30 years into a nutshell…hmmm…let’s give it a go (squish, jam, squash)
Left school, studied theatre design at DDIAE, and moved to Brisbane into a share house with Moo Stringer and Judith White - lots of getting up to mischief ensued. All went our separate ways and I began working in a drawing office and later got extremely itchy feet and went off to seek my fortune in the world. Sadly I came back without it, but I saw a great deal of South America, Africa, Asia and Europe while I looked!
I met a man in Kathmandu and he and I later married and had a daughter, India. After many years of travelling, we chose Stradbroke Island as a great place to raise a child and opened a fitness centre and adventure activities business. We separated, and I opened a restaurant at Point Lookout and ran it for eight years while juggling motherhood and business obligations.
I sold the restaurant in 2004 and have recently begun a new project with my brother Stephen here on the Island. We have just launched a website www.straddieonline.com.au and I am being kept busy with a whole new ballgame. Keeps things interesting… see you at the reunion!
